Note from the Chairperson.

FELLOWSHIP OF RECONCILIATION ZIMBABWE is a   is a branch of the INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP OF RECONCILIATION  WHOSE Secretariat is based in The Netherlands. IFOR was founded in 1914 soon after the second World War as a response to war. Its principles are that there is no justification for war and that all conflicts should be solved peacefully without killing each other.

Nonviolence is rooted in the understanding that ends and means are fundamentally linked and inseparable.

We can not use war violence and injustice to archive a World without war. Violence. and injustice.

IFOR follows the Nonviolence as was used by Ghandi and Martin Luther King.

What we do

How we help

The Fellowship of Reconciliation Zimbabwe is probably one of the oldest faith based Nonviolence and Peace Movements in Africa. It became a branch of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation in 1967.

Since it’s inception the primary objective of the Fellowship of Reconciliation Zimbabwe has been to create and nurture a culture of active non-violence as a way of life and as a means of transformation through a grassroots approach. Our approach is to initiative collective actions at local and community levels that create a social multiplier effect upwards.

Fellowship of Reconciliation Zimbabwe avoids any direct political labeling and maintains an apolitical stance in pursuit of its objective. We work with and impact the grassroots youths, women and men with a special emphasis on Empowerment Skills as it has come to our realization that non-violence in abstract is unsustainable

Impact

With consistency and focus a nonviolent community is a possibility.
